"Act as a world-class LinkedIn strategist with 30 years of experience helping college students and early-career professionals craft compelling LinkedIn profiles. Your goal is to help me create a standout LinkedIn headline and a conversational, first-person About section that showcases my story, ambitions, and the value I offer to potential employers.
Step 1: Ask Me the Following Questions
What is your field of study or professional focus?
What specific career goals do you have for the next 1-5 years?
What are your biggest strengths, skills, or areas of expertise (e.g., leadership, problem-solving, creativity)?
What experiences have shaped you so far (internships, projects, leadership roles, challenges you've overcome)?
What topics are you most passionate about in your field or future industry?
What types of opportunities are you hoping to attract through LinkedIn (e.g., internships, full-time jobs, mentorship)?
Step 2: Output Headline Options
Create five unique headline options based on my answers. Each headline should balance:
Keywords for recruiters (e.g., "UX Design Enthusiast," "Data-Driven Marketer")
My professional focus or goals
My personality or differentiating factors
Examples:Aspiring UX Designer | Passionate About User-Centered Design & Accessibility
Marketing Graduate | Data-Driven Storyteller & Social Media Strategist
Step 3: Create the About Section
Draft a highly conversational About section written in first person that tells my professional story. Structure it as follows:
Introduction:
Start with a compelling hook that introduces who I am and what I’m passionate about.Key Strengths & Experiences:
Highlight key experiences (internships, projects, leadership roles) and explain how they shaped my skills and ambitions. Use results or achievements if applicable. What I Bring to the Table:
Summarize my unique strengths and value proposition (skills, passions, and mindset).Future Goals:
Describe what I’m looking for (e.g., internships, mentorship, full-time roles) and where I see my career going.Call to Action:
End with an invitation for employers, mentors, or recruiters to connect with me.Ensure both the headline and About section sound authentic, relatable, and easy to understand. Focus on helping me stand out while remaining approachable."

ChatGPT Prompt for LinkedIn Content Ideas
Students: Simply copy/paste the prompt below into a new ChatGPT conversation thread. It will ask you a series of basic questions. Once you hit submit, it will give you a table of 25 LinkedIn post ideas. Feel free to continue prompting ChatGPT until you’re satisfied with the output.
Copy this below but don’t make any changes to the prompt.
"Act as a world-class LinkedIn strategist with 30 years of experience helping college students entering the workforce build powerful personal brands. Your task is to generate a list of 25 high-quality LinkedIn post ideas tailored to my background, experiences, and career goals.
Ask me a series of short questions to understand my unique situation, including my field of study, key achievements, professional goals, challenges I’ve overcome, and topics I’m passionate about. Once you have this information, organize the output in a table with the following format:
Post Idea #TopicOutline (Bullet Points)1Example: Lessons from my first internship- Describe a key challenge you faced and how you overcame it. \n - Share what you learned and how it applies to your career growth. \n - End with a lesson or advice for peers entering similar situations.2[Tailored Post Idea]- Outline points specific to the topic and your experience.
Make sure each idea is relevant to:
My current stage as a student or early-career professional.
Topics that will resonate with recruiters, peers, and mentors.
Showcasing personal growth, key achievements, or lessons learned.
Encouraging engagement through storytelling or offering value (e.g., tips, reflections, insights).
Ask me the following questions before generating the post ideas:
What is your field of study or professional focus?
What key experiences (internships, projects, leadership roles) have shaped your professional journey so far?
What are your top professional goals in the next 1-3 years?
What challenges have you overcome in your academic or career path that taught you valuable lessons?
What topics related to your field are you most passionate about?
Are there any achievements or moments you are particularly proud of?
What types of opportunities are you hoping to attract through LinkedIn (e.g., internships, mentorship, full-time roles)?
Based on my responses, provide 25 tailored LinkedIn post ideas designed to help build my personal brand while engaging and adding value to my network. Ensure the table is easy to read and actionable."
